Greenwood Lake Residents:
Your Voice is Needed!
Change and growth are words that can make people nervous, especially when it’s unknown as to how their lives and communities will be impacted. That said, change and growth are coming to Greenwood Lake whether we want it or not. We need to ask ourselves, do we approach “change and growth” strategically and intentionally? Or do we leave things alone and let things change haphazardly or without a shared vision of what “change and growth” should look like? Also, while it’s important to protect and maintain what we have, and to identify the things we need and want, nothing comes without a price. That is what the Town of Warwick Visioning process is about. It’s about prioritizing goals and creating a plan on how we manage “change and growth” going forward. This is what will be discussed at our up-coming “Community Voices” meeting. The meeting is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend. It's about your future! Become engaged in the process and attend.
Community Voices Workshops
WHAT WILL THE COMMUNITY VOICES WORKSHOPS BE LIKE?
The public meetings scheduled for November and early December will review the results of the survey, suggest additions, identify what’s missing, and prioritize preliminary community goals. As you arrive, you will be seated at small tables and will meet your trained facilitator. You will use electronic keypads, small hand-held devices, that will register your responses to questions and instantaneously display the results on a screen.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
At the completion of the November meetings, TOGETHER Steering Committee members will hold small, informal meetings to present the results to groups of residents that may not have had an opportunity to participate previously (non-English speaking residents, for example).
WHAT WILL THE VISION BE LIKE?
It is up to you to imagine what the Warwick Valley has the potential to achieve. TOGETHER will reflect your ideas and aspirations for the future. It will be based on the consensus that you help identify and the priorities that you set. It will be as bold as you can envision it! It will be detailed with specific, achievable tasks and recommendations on how to implement them.
The results will be presented to the Warwick Valley community in early 2018.
